Pathways & Programs

Club pathways

Vikings Water Polo has created and implemented our player pathway to provide a clear development trajectory for all athletes. Through our pathway, athletes gain access to consistent coaching, tailored training programs, and competitive opportunities at appropriate levels, ultimately enhancing their skills and enjoyment whilst maximising their potential within the sport. This approach not only fosters individual growth but also cultivates a cohesive team dynamic, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, success and long term enjoyment within the Vikings Water Polo community.

Little Vikings Program

Focus: Learning, Participation, and Enjoyment
Players: Juniors U8 to U11
Training: Weekly training (Term 1 & 4), Holiday and Weekend Camps
Competitions: Structured Internal club training & games

Little Vikings is designed to introduce the next generation of athletes to the world of water polo in a safe, fun, and engaging environment.

Little Vikings is tailored for kids under the age of 11, focusing on nurturing a love for the game through our "Love to Play" and "Learn to Play" principles. We use modified rules, like two-handed catching and non-contact play, to ensure your child can dive into the game with confidence while having a blast. This approach not only makes water polo more accessible but also emphasises enjoyment and teamwork, allowing young players to form lasting friendships.

Little Vikings is more than just a program—it's the start of an exhilarating journey into the dynamic world of water polo!

Pathways

Loreto College

The partnership will allow Loreto College students the opportunity to continue competing post schooling with friends they have made during their time at the College. One of the biggest challenges with athletes continuing Water Polo after they have left school is finding clubs in which their friends play for. The ability for Loreto College students to continue playing Water Polo with familiar faces is what this relationship is centred around.

Does your daughter attend Loreto College? Read more on what the partnership has to offer HERE.

ACU Brisbane

The partnership between ACU Brisbane and Vikings Water Polo provides opportunity for students to continue playing the sport they love or take up a new challenge through social sport opportunities, whilst utilising on campus facilities to drive Water Polo in the local area.
