2026 Vikings Water Polo Premier League & Reserve Grade Nomination

Vikings Water Polo are now calling for early expressions of interest for the upcoming 2026 Premier League and Reserve Grade Season.

The expression of interest will take into consideration nominations for players wishing to participate in the Premier League, Premier League Reserve Grade.

Water Polo Queensland are currently finalising all details regarding team nominations and entry.

Key Dates & Information

Water Polo Queensland have not confirmed dates for the 2026 Premier League and Reserve Grade. Based on the 2025 Season, the competition is expected to run from October - December in a home and away format.

Training and Trials

Pre-Season Commencing July 22 6:30-8:00pm at the Stuartholme School Pool.
Squad training will approximately start week commencing Wednesday 19 August, pending confirmaiton of competition dates from Water Polo Queensland
Trial Dates: to be conducted Monday 28 and Wednesday 30 July 7:00-8:30pm (Venue TBC). Athletes to be notified of selection in Premier League, Reserve Grade or Development Squads by Friday 1 August via email.
Selected Premier League Squads will train Monday and Wednesday 7:00-8:30pm, from week commencing 4 August
Selected Reserve Grade and U18 (pre-season) will train Thursday 7:00-8:30pm at All Hallows', from Thursday 7 August

Reserve Grade - Players Born 2011 and older

Women's Coaching Staff

The women's team will see the return of Fabio Pavanello for his fourth season. Additional coaching staff to be announced soon.

Our Reserve Grade Women's program will be coached by Chris Corbin and assisted by Hannah McWilliams.

Men's Coaching Staff

The men's team will be coached by Jordan Sheterline who has successfully led the men's team to Silver medals in both 2024 & 2025. 3x Olympian Mel Rippon joins the Men's program in 2026.

The men's program will be aptly supported with the addition of club stalwart, Patrick Flanagan continuing as Reserve Grade Men's Coach.
